The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds are back for their fourth year in Thunder Over the Boardwalk, a daring airshow over the Atlantic City beach. This year, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will join them in celebration of the Blue Angels' 60th anniversary. An estimated crowd of 200,000 is expected to witness this spectacular demonstration of aviation acrobatics and military tactics. The performance will also feature the U.S. Army Golden Knights, the U.S. Coast Guard and a variety of demo teams for planes such as the F-16, F-15, A-10 and P-51.
The airshow is free, open to the public and will run from approximately 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tour a decorator home while supporting a good cause! Each year, the Ruth Newman Shapiro Cancer and Heart Fund (RNS) brings together area designers to decorate rooms within a home, as a fundraiser to support RNS programs and services. This year, the home is Windswept, a 6,000 square foot, three story manor house built in 1910. The air-conditioned 22 room house has seven bedrooms, five baths and three verandahs (one on each story). 4th Annual Atlantic City Arts Alive! Festival

It's a celebration of fine art, crafts and music at a festival that was nationally recognized by Sunshine Artist Magazine as one of the ten best new shows in America. Artists from as far as Florida and New England will be on hand to show their work. The stage at Kennedy Plaza will showcase music of all varieties, including jazz, pop and classical. 10th Annual Atlantic County Puerto Rican Parade & Festival

One of the largest in the state, the Atlantic County Puerto Rican parade is designed to educate the community on the history, heritage, culture and arts of Puerto Rico as well as the entire Latino community. The parade begins at 12 noon and travels the Atlantic City Boardwalk from Albany Avenue to New Jersey Avenue where it concludes with a Latin Music Festival. The festival will feature top artists from Puerto Rico and the U.S. as well as delicious and authentic Puerto Rican food, folklore music, dancers and other attractions. The parade is free and the festival entrance fee is $5 for adults with a nominal charge for children. 5th Annual Stockton Goes To The Beach
Free Concerts - Fridays in July 2006
The Stockton Performing Arts Center comes to Kennedy Plaza this summer with a series of free concerts on Friday nights. The summer concert series will feature festival music and dance from around the globe. Included in the line-up are Juno Award-winning rumba guitar flamenco master Jesse Cook, the Prodigals, one of the most successful bands to emerge from the East-Coast Irish scene, the smooth sounds of Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience, and The Stockton Faculty Band will rock the boards for the final concert of the series. All concerts start at 7 p.m.

Chicken Bone Beach Concert Series
Free Concerts - Thursdays in July and August 2006
Relax to the sounds of cool jazz under the stars at Kennedy Plaza. This free concert series is sponsored by the Chicken Bone Beach Historical Foundation, Inc. Each week, the audience is treated to two acts—a jazz headliner and an emerging jazz artist. The concerts begin at 7 p.m. and conclude at 10 p.m. Kennedy Plaza is located on the Boardwalk at Mississippi Avenue. In addition, there will be a fundraising performance on Thursday, August 31, 2006 that will come with an admission fee.
The Chicken Bone Beach Historical Foundation, is a non-profit historical organization celebrating the rich tradition of African American music, culture and history in and around Atlantic City.

Around the Island Swim

An Atlantic City tradition for more than half a century, the 53rd Annual Around-the-Island Marathon Swim will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2006. The swim gives the world's top competitive swimmers a 22.5-mile challenge. Competitors swim through back bays and open Atlantic Ocean for substantial prize money. Race Day festivities start and end with cheering crowds and parties at Historic Gardner's Basin, and fans cheer the swimmers on at various locations along the bay and ocean.

Atlantic City will be host to three Volleyball matches this season. Men, women and coed teams will compete in the Great American Volleyball Beach Bash on July 15, 2006 and the Great American Volleyball Atlantic City Open on August 26, 2006. The East End Volleyball tournament will take place on September 9 and 10, 2006. Come out and support your favorite teams!

For the first time, March Madness comes to Boardwalk Hall in 2007 with the 31st Annual Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Basketball Championship! All-session seating packages can be reserved now at $300 for VIP gold, $140 for silver, and $120 for bronze by calling group sales at 609-348-7021 or downloading the order form on the A10 website. The championship features four opening round games on Wednesday with the winners joining the top four seeds for quarterfinal round action on Thursday. The semifinal doubleheader is played on Friday and the final round on Saturday.
