| Enjoy the phenomenon that more than 400,000 visitors see each summer as Borgata Presents the 2008 Atlantic City Airshow "Thunder Over the Boardwalk" once again descends on the Boardwalk, Wednesday, August 20. This year's Airshow features U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, U.S. Army Golden Knights parachute team, 177th Fighter Wing of the N.J. Air National Guard, William J. Hughes FAA Technical Center aircraft flybys, Geico Extra 300 Demonstration by Tim Weber, Fagan Ethanol-fueled MX-2 piloted by Greg Poe, The Red Eagles Two-Ship Routine and more. It's time to hit the beach! Beginning Memorial Day Weekend, lifeguards will be on duty, beach bars will open and the unofficial start of summer at the Jersey Shore will be underway. Be sure to check out individual beach bar listings for hours of operation and schedules for live entertainment.
Atlantic City has four miles of white, sandy beaches that are free, clean and protected by trained lifeguards. Click here for a complete listing of guarded beaches, surfing beaches and hours lifeguards are on duty. |

Over the winter months, Atlantic City has been diligently working to renovate many of the facades along the Boardwalk. The renovations include: the addition of decorative touches like brick and stucco facades, cupolas and new rooftop signs. Two blocks were completed in spring 2007, and a total of five blocks should be completed by Memorial Day Weekend with more planned in the future. Restoration of the historic Fountain of Light in Brighton Park at Park Place was completed in spring 2007.

Now underway, the ACCVA is again hosting the online photo contest through June 30. All amateur photographers are encouraged to upload their favorite shots to www.myacphotos.com for a chance to win a $500 gift certificate to The Pier Shops at Caesars.
There are seven categories for photo submissions: AC Always Turned On, Natural Beauty, People Watching, Fun in the Sun, Fave Foods, Shopped 'till I Dropped and the Open category. Winners will be chosen by ACCVA staff and notified by e-mail in July. |

Every year Atlantic City honors industry employees who work to make your getaways great. This year, the 2008 Atlantic City host awards will be held on May 14 at historic Boardwalk Hall, visit our Web site following the event to see if your favorite AC representatives won.
